Logo
Logo is a term derived from the Greek word
logotipos and is a shortened version of the English word
logotype. A logo is an identifying symbol that readily
associates with a person, company, group, or philosophy.
From a marketing standpoint, logos are

something for him and the captain excitedly replied, “yes!”
“Great!” the client replied, “I’ll need my shipment in Phoenix,
AZ by Friday.” The captain hung up the phone and scratched his
beard, wondering how he was going to sail to Phoenix.
In the above example, the captain’s problem
is that he chose the incorrect logo design (link to logo

elephant on the captain’s logo and assumed that the shipping
service was for land shipment, because the elephant is a land
animal. If Captain Pete had put more thought into his logo
design, he would have chosen a more representative animal such
as a dolphin or whale.
